this is going straight to the pool roomyessss tri series trophy what a dream come true
Yeah winning games like this especially against PAK was a distant dream back in the 90s, great to see even if the format is practically irrelevant now.yessss tri series trophy what a dream come true
First thought that came to mind was Zimbabwe but then who else? Turns out it was IndiaOur first tri series trophy since 2005, I can't even remember our last tri series trophy win back then, it was probably against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Nope, was against India (yes kids, NZ was doing it to India back then too) and Zimbabwe. Bond took a brilliant 6-for against India in one game. Our first tri series trophy since 2005, I can't even remember our last tri series trophy win back then, it was probably against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
All in all we had the best warm up I guess we could ask for:Yeah winning games like this especially against PAK was a distant dream back in the 90s, great to see even if the format is practically irrelevant now.

Funnily enough, even after just inflicting 2 crushing defeats on the home team, Pakistan are still 1.80 favourites to beat NZ in the opening match.Favorites
That was also the series my fav Lou Vincent set the highest ODI score by a New Zealander at the timeNope, was against India (yes kids, NZ was doing it to India back then too) and Zimbabwe. Bond took a brilliant 6-for against India in one game.
Will Young doing Will Young things. All in all we had the best warm up I guess we could ask for:
If anything the relative understrength SA side may give us a false sense of security there. We dropped a couple catches this game and in turn Pakistan gifted us some drops (plus didn't review an out LBW) which may have seen the match swing their way. That's cricket, I spose
- On the pitches that will be used in the CT (apart from Dubai obvs)
- We set and defended a high total
- We chased a high total
- We chased a tricky total in the face of some disciplined, excellent bowling early on
- All the seamers got a look in - and we had one match where we stuck to the 5 main bowlers
- All the spinners got a look in
- The only person not to make a score was Will Young - though his 3rd dismissal was rough. Despite him being the best 'servant' to the ODI batting lineup since the world cup, he suddenly now looks the shakiest to make way for Conway if Ravindra is considering a lock, which would basically be the story of Young's career
might have to put a cheeky bet on them. not a massive fan of their bowling attack though I think better teams will score big.NZ a good dark horse for the CT at 9/1
