Yep, the 94/95 Mandela Trophy (quadrangula tournament) was a particular low point where they got hammered in every game (derailed the tour after they had won the first test). I thought they might get up in this Sharjah Final but Pakistan's 160 proved too great. The 90's ODI side was usually competitive in bilateral series winning any kind of tournament was always a bridge too far.

Oh yeah, watched this as a kid and was bitterly disappointed. while the PAK attack was generally too good, can remember at least 4 out of the 5 lbw decisions which went against NZ were doubtful or worse. Germon refused to be drawn in to any discussions on umpiring post the game, and the older folks in the room were actually impressed with him taking it in stride.
