Great news on Ferguson for NZ fans as sounds like he should be ready for the CT now, & possibly only missing 1 game. He's definitely a clear step above Sears and O'Rourke in the white-ball formats, and I'm still far from convinced by O'Rourke with the white-ball in hand.

Interesting in the cricinfo preview they've listed NZ's possible team for tonight's match with Latham & Chapman bracketed... Hoping that's off the back of some inside guff that NZ might try Conway with the gloves to squeeze Chapman in the middle order which I'm sure 99% of NZ fans (bar Rod Latham) will want.

" New Zealand (probable): 1 Devon Conway, 2 Will Young, 3 Kane Williamson, 4 Daryl Mitchell, 5 Tom Latham/Mark Chapman, 6 Glenn Phillips, 7 Michael Bracewell, 8 Mitchell Santner (capt), 9 Ben Sears/Lockie Ferguson, 10 Matt Henry, 11 Will O'Rourke "

Far too hopeful, I reckon.

No Ravindra?

We all know Latham is playing. To be fair, I wouldn't advocate for a part time keeper to our spin options in Pakistan

Sears out with a hamstring tear. Feel for him, but on whatever little I saw the last two games he needs a lot of work before he can be considered a white ball starter. Good reward for Duffy though these are far from his preferred conditions.

Unpopular opinion possibly but Sodhi has actually bowled very well in the SC in the last couple of years whenever there’s been turn on offer. There was a 6 wicket haul in BD before the WC, a game in which Santner-Macewell-Sodhi combined to bowl Pak out for 180+, and in the last ODI in SL which I happened to watch, I got the biggest surprise when he was landing his legbreak consistently and beating the right hander time after time (didn’t have any luck though). For the CT at least, I thought he would add more value than Sears/Duffy/Smith.

Rod Latham and me.

Hopefully we can get up in the final tonight against Pakistan but I won't be able to watch it unless they are showing this match on youtube.

No Henry? Guess we’re looking at another very steep chase with the attack NZ are playing today.

Henry being rested, that just shows how much much this final means to us, it's more important to have our best players fit for the Champions Trophy.

Resting Henry now is very dumb. He wasn't rested against South Africa, despite less than 48 hours between starts of games, and now he's rested despite this game being the only ODI within an eight-day window.

Not to forget that he's in the form of his life.

If trialling options is a priority, would have given Chapman a game ahead of Young, possibly. Need your spare batter to be prepared and these are conditions he's done well in.

It turns out this match is being shown on youtube, O'Rourke bowling well early on without luck as per usual.

He's not the spare batter though. That's Conway.
