Asalanka is so frustrating. He goes on runs where hey'll do stuff like this semi regularly (T20 WC in UAE) and you think "wow, this guy is unreal, then you look at his numbers and it's just Ehh. 40 @90 in ODI's, 24 @125 in t20I, 29 in domestic FC cricket and 1 test to his name with no runs.

Only 3 Sri Lankans have ever scored more than 50% of an innings runs (Edit: when side dismissed)

Tharanga 112* in 187 - 59.89%
Asalanka 127 in 214 - 59.35%
Sangakkarra - 101 in 193 - 52.33%

Asalanka 9th highest % overall

That's not true , Jayasuriya once made 189 vs India from a total of nearly 300. I think it was in Sharjah in the early 2000's..

Also last year Nissanka got a double hundred in odis vs Afghanistan where we made 380 ..So that's just two other examples of over 50% from 1 SL batter..I'm sure there is more .

Oops, missed out they had criteria "when side dismissed"

I dunno what holds Sri Lanka back from being a stronger, more consistent nation but it must be something. Geez they have some talent in their ranks. Going to the ground a couple of months back in our T20I series, these guys just hit it so clean, they produce unorthodox guys who hit 140+ and can bowl mystery spin...but just don't piece it together.

Just a refresher on our top 3 from the last WC

Warner: 535 runs @49, sr 108
Head: 329 runs @55, sr 127.5
Marsh: 441 runs @ 49, 108 SR.

Now we've got mcgurk averaging less than 15, short averaging less than 20, and collony in his 3rd game.

simply terrible these guys. None of these batters are any good. AFter the CT, i hope to never see any of these players again.

Easily the worst top 3 ever in an ODI game for Australia.

Great, these are our Champions Trophy Openers (luckily Connolly is only a reserve for CT).

McGurk now averages 14.83 in ODI's while Short averages a massive 19.50
