Why?I know it wasn't meant to be, but disrespectful to Kapil Dev.

I mean, saying that Kapil Dev would be a better and more popular version of Andre Russell begs the comparison between the two; which is a bit disrespectful to Kapil imo. Why?
Doesn't mean he was the best ever, might barely make it into my top 10.Kallis longevity and consistency gets unnoticed. He was slow and that actually cost some matches, but he was the only reason for South Africa winning their only ICC event... that deserves credit... even from 2010 Kallis has 25 wickets from 33 matches @ 28.72...
Not saying he is the best ever...but his longevity is unmatched by anyone except Jayasuriya ... that deserves a credit a being a ICC Trophy winner also makes his position in the Top 10Doesn't mean he was the best ever, might barely make it into my top 10.
Top 10 all rounders in the last 54 years of one day cricket is not bad at all.Doesn't mean he was the best ever, might barely make it into my top 10.
Kallis is easily the best pure batsman in this list. He gives a sense of stability to the team and will give confidence to other batsmen to play more freely and confidently because they know as long as he is in the lineup, he will prevent any kind of batting collapse. 86 fifties and 17 centuries in innings means he is going to score a 50+ score once in every 3 innings proving he is a huge asset to any team including in one days.1. Pollock
2. Kapil
3. Jayasuriya
4. Klusener
5. Flintoff
6. Imran
7. Shakib
8. Kallis
9. Watson
Imo.
can say that, but Sanath is a better ODI bat comfortablyTop 10 all rounders in the last 54 years of one day cricket is not bad at all.

32 MOM...longevity gets ignored due to strike rateTop 10 all rounders in the last 54 years of one day cricket is not bad at all.

In ODIs, I will disagreeTwo different types of batsmen.
Kallis is a better batsman imo.
Nah Average > SR...in ODIs, SR ~ average
are you picking 30 avg striking at 130 or 60 average striking at 65Not really.
I would rather choose Jacques Kallis who scores 45(60) than Shahid Afridi who scores 23(19) as a batsman.are you picking 30 avg striking at 130
60 average striking at 65
and if Afridi averaged 30 and Kallis 45?I would rather choose Jacques Kallis who scores 45(60) than Shahid Afridi who scores 23(19) as a batsman.
That's moreso because Afridi was kinda **** as a batsman.I would rather choose Jacques Kallis who scores 45(60) than Shahid Afridi who scores 23(19) as a batsman.
Both average and strike rate are important. In an all time great when I have better options, I can choose someone over Kallis. But in a regular team he is useful. Kallis played an average of 50 balls per match which means he will most likely prevent a batting collapseNah Average > SR...
for a top order batsmen generally as long as situation dont demand ..44(60) is better than 32(34)
