This is going to be DKs last match. Mathews also should retire IMO. It is a sorry sight seeing how unfit he is. In addition Kusal Mendis has to be dropped, at least for the next test series. Let him continue with his white ball heroics.

Took us a while to get to "it's the selectors fault", I was almost worried we'd miss it
Yeah, that's the really sad reality of being a spinner nowadays. Murphy isn't even a T20 gun for hire, or someone who has longevity in that format, necessarily. But he's completely adapted his game (maybe subconsciously as much as anything) to be effective in the short forms. Lyon continuing to be strong and not looking at an immediate retirement probably doesn't help, as well. Hard to be motivated to build your game around flight when you tour the subcontinent once a calendar year or whatever it is, and even then maybe you're not picked. He's probably not playing the 2nd Test?
I'm not a spin purveyor but it is disappointing that we now have very few guys who give it a massive rip, because that just doesn't translate to consistency and economy in T20.

Murphy always bowled pretty flat and darty from my experience, and I've played against him since he was 19

I don't think it is selector's fault. These players have influence over selectors too. It's their selfishness and poor work ethic. Kusal Mendis should not be any where in the team. **** keeper, **** batsman in test areana. Instead he gets Chandimal moved to 3 (who was averaging 50 at #5), Kamindu moved to 5 and settles in 7, and still fails. With such a bunch, a drubbing is well deserving.

With the seam attack Australia is fielding, we may have better chance with a track with little bit of grass, not much, just a bit, but doesn't bounce much. Perfect for SL seamers who like to hit the pads.

We had a bloke on here recently say Green would never play again. You should debate him.
Bowling though as an all rounder. He's being viewed as a batter only at this stage.
