Warne is ATG for a reason. He troubled Great players regularly enough. I find it laughable to think with any confidence Viv or Sobers or Headley will dominate Warne. Lol. Australian bowling is just better.
And destroyed by great ones and less than great ones as well.

Think Warne is the greatest spinner ever, he's quite easily the most celebrated cricketer ever.

It was McGrath not him who was key to that dynasty and he was absolutely neutralized vs India and in the WI..

well Warne averages more than Andy Roberts, I don't think he's too much of a factor but fair.
The idiocy is crazy. Warne was pretty much neutralized by great batsmen and great players of spin.

Hoping for impact on day 4 or 5 when the game is already decided isn't it. And again, that's hoping for impact.

I would back even Lloyd to handle Warne capably...

Warne's advantage over other spinners is that he had Pigeon to take care of the top order for him. That's almost a big an advantage as Murali's home pitches.

Warne was neutralized by India mostly. Not all great batsmen. He had the wood on many of them and great records vs some great batting lineups too.

That were at sea to spin. Like SA for instance.

None of these batsmen have that deficiency to spin. And especially not on the pitches that were referenced.

Considering you have Warne in your ATG XI, do you have him only to bowl many overs? I'd say Muralitharan would be better than Warne at bowling over after over.

The SA batsmen he faced were not "at sea" against spin, what on earth are you talking about. They were an extremely successful team on the subcontinent because they had many solid batsmen vs spin and Warne still thoroughly had a psychological hold on them. He also ate Pakistan and Sri Lankan lineups for lunch plenty of times and they had many great batsmen of spin.

Only great batsmen to have fair hold over warne were sachin and lara. Everyone else struggled

I prefer leg spin, think it's more effective on more surfaces, and Warne spent more of his career in less than helpful conditions than Murali.

And they both have the same holes.

And with players this close, the extra batting and catching comes into play. Though Warne doesn't make my cordon, he slots in at gully.

This is exactly right. Warne had a lot of success vs Kallis, Sanga, Dravid, Mahela, Younis, Inzi.... all very good to incredible players of spin. But because Lara and Sachin dominated him, suddenly he's some noob who got neutralized by all great players.

Such easily disprovable nonsense.
