I don't take his records in 2013 Australia ashes as he was bowling with broken ribs, but Yeah he's also mid in Australia and against them
Unfortunately missed 19 ashes. Missed a great chance to win at home as he was in great from and who knows smith would not have had big series if jimmy was there

Who doy think is best bowler for each decade
Some time decade may not match exactly with bowler's career. But the best bowlers with good away record without any ifs or buts or mental gymnastic can be,

Lilee
Marshall
Hadlee
Ambrose
McGrath
Steyn
Bumrah

I am sure some other bowlers did better in some shorter periods, but when you start looking at their record against top teams and away in general then I am hesitant to name anyone as the best in their generation without ticking that box. Since players have over lapping careers, it's best to look at their career and see if they stack up well against their peer group.

That's why I said find 2 best ones and you get 10-12 best pacers in 50 years. You can add Cummins and even Anderson in this list as you had, but Anderson falls short in quality in den of top teams even during his peak. Cummins is veyr veyr good so you can club him with Bumrah as 2nd best. Again, rarely 2 pacers will have exact same start and end, but if they played 40-50 tests in the same time frame, they are competing with each other.

It's actually simpler to list Tier 1 pacers. If you are not tier 1 pacer then I find it hard to call them best. They can be best due to no good alternative for 2-3 years, but that's a different issue. I took your question as really top class bowlers who can be called best in their generation.

For shorter periods, you may start getting more names than 10-12. In 50 years we are not going to have only 10-12 bowlers dominating entire period as the best.
