***official*** England whiteball tour of india January 2025***

Silly Point 2.0

Cricket Spectator
They’re obsessed with the 2019 World Cup final. It’s actually quite impressive how triggered they get about a match that they weren’t involved in.

Silent about the T20 WC last year though when they were the only team who knew which venues they’d play at in advance though aren’t they?
It's quite bizarre. I struggle to remember the results of most matches I watch as a neutral never mind individual incidents. Indeed I'd forgotten about last year's T20 tournament until you mentioned it!

Dube has bowled the last over a few times for India in T20s and has bowled far more regularly when playing for India than when he plays for CSK. I am not sure how fair it would have been had they forced Jurel to be the concussion sub.

I dont think the English lads crying now would have cried as much had Washington been the concussion sub even though Washy is actually a more proven T20 bowler than Harshit.
Get ramandeep to do it.

Javagal Srinath fked up. Brought into India's deception I think. They probably said they have no other like for like replacement (a seam bowling all rounder option). Ramandeep had been added to the squad mid series so was somehow overlooked. (by the referee)

I agree with that. I had actually forgotten he was in the squad yesterday till I read the crapinfo piece this morning.

I think the crybabies have gone too far claiming the concussion itself is a lie etc.

AFAIC, the concussion sub rule and its usage were correct but obviously the ref messed up. It should have been Ramandeep.

I stand by my earlier post of allowing substitutions for all injuries, with a neutral ICC doctor at the ground for every game and with written substitutes for each player in the 11 shared before the game.

Anyways, the important thing to note here is that Harshit Rana has created HISTORY as the first Impact Player Sub in international cricket.

Srinath the ref made a major blunder.

The irony is that Rana is now a starter in all games from here on in for white ball.

What happens if a team doesn't agree with the substitutes and there's no one in the squad that can cover them?

I feel like this sort of thing has happened before? They certainly should clear up what they mean by "like for like"

Nah India foreshadowed the impact sub with the jadeja-chahal swap during the covid t20's in AUS.
Yeah but that one makes sense coz Jaddu would have definitely bowled at least 3 overs when Australia batted. Which is what the rule says should be taken into consideration.

At that time , opinion on CW was Chahal was a bowler and Jadeja an all rounder. So not like for like replacement. Imo Teams should declare this before the match to avoid confusion in the future.
