averaged 30 in 2017 BGT too, he's just not an ATG pacerHe averages 60 in india and sl. Can understand that during 23 bgt he had personal problems so would give him pass. Hope he does well in 27 bgt

17 dharmshala was green pitch. One of rare green pitches for tests in india where indian fast bowlers out bowled Australian attackaveraged 30 in 2017 BGT too, he's just not an ATG pacer
Gooch represents and embodies the conceptual opposition to those people. no wonder @capt_Luffy hates him. He's talking about general people. It's true that run tally and pretty numbers really contribute to the perception among general people.
I’m really hoping they both play at least for another 4 years. Two of my favorite players atm.Bumrah might retire after 2027 bgt if he stays fit till then. So that series would legcy defining for bumrah and cummins
Dobut bumrah s body holdsI’m really hoping they both play at least for another 4 years. Two of my favorite players atm.
It should not but to most fans it would make a differenceYk Viv's averages dropped below 50 in his 115ish match?? Would it really had made any difference had he retired then and there??? I don't get this obsession with 50.
Cummins for his batting???I’m really hoping they both play at least for another 4 years. Two of my favorite players atm.
Yes that’s why I think retiring with a 50+ average is a lot more important for his legacy than doing well in Aus (not that I agree though)It should not but to most fans it would make a difference
Two home bulliesRabada vs Cummins in swinging helpful conditions is close.
It may be one of the few exceptions.Yes that’s why I think retiring with a 50+ average is a lot more important for his legacy than doing well in Aus (not that I agree though)
Yea that’s true. I’m hoping England can eventually produce more modern era ATGs without the ashes record asterisk (there’s still time for Root to change this and Brook can too). Bothams probably the only Eng player that’s achieved that since 1970.It may be one of the few exceptions.
If Anderson had retired with an average below 25 (I know, laughable concept) but still sucked against Aus it would’ve still been crap. Ashes rivalry and stats are still huge.
two sub Bumrah bowlersTwo home bullies
Sobers had better pitches for batting at home and I am personally of the belief that Viv faced greater bowling than Sobers, but I completely understand the case for Sobers as well and completely expect Sobers to win the poll considering Sobers was rated as the #3 Batsmen of all time and Viv as #5 just a few years back
CW's Ranking of Batsmen (Tests)
This part is true. Ftr I think peak Clarke was closer to Lara than DeVilliers if we strictly keep this for tests. Not many can slap Steyn, Phillander and Morkel the way he did on a Cape Town pitch which yielded two double figure team scores for the next two innings. Timely reminder of how good...www.cricketweb.net
you don't really get much than these two, unless you're the Don
Potentially borderline and no.Is Younis Khan or Rahul Dravid an ATG?
I don't think so.Isn’t Root an all time great already?
That's a lot of names imo.Amongst the modern guys, these would probably be the ATGs for me:
ATGs-
Batsmen:
Sachin, Lara, Smith, Richards, Gavaskar, Ponting, Chappell, Border, Kallis, Waugh, Dravid, Root
Pacers:
Marshall, McGrath, Hadlee, Steyn, Imran, Ambrose, Akram, Lillee, Donald, Garner, Holding, Waqar, Walsh
Spinners:
Warne, Murali
All Rounders:
Botham, Pollock, Kapil
WK:
Gilchrist, Sangakkara
Yeah it just boils down to how many ATG's you think there are. That's a lot of names imo.
I would remove possibly Dravid, bur for sure,
Root, Waqar, Walsh, Kapil, and Sangakkara as a wk.
Sangakkara was just put in by me in the wkb section. Can put him in the batsman section as well. That's a lot of names imo.
