if the reasoning to ignore it is conspiracy theories then I'm probably not ignoring it personally, I would also question the amount of effort an aussie pacer puts in a match against West Indies 2 months before an Ashes series, doesn't mean I ignore the series
Fine, but it's still not Tests and Smith better.

No WSC Smith easily. WSC Smith just (I never ignored WSC totally really, just don't rate it exactly like Tests, since I personally think showmanship was the selling point there).
No WSC Viv would win with high difficulty, WSC Viv would win medium difficulty, view No-WSC Viv vs Smith as Shanks vs Kizaru, view no WSC Viv vs Smith as Shanks vs Greenbull

Cricketer Of The Year
Sure, but that year is better than any Smith year, plus Smith's quality all also comes from two serieses, if he never haf those, I doubt people would consider him even an ATG, so it's not like it's Viv alone who relies on a small body of work.
Let's be honest his work in Ashes 2019 was next level, while his work in BGT 2017 is overrated.

1) Pune 3rd inns ton on a minefield but after 4 dropped catches. Luck-ridden innings.

2) Ranchi 1st inns ton was on a high scoring road, ending in a draw.

3) Dharmashala 1st inns ton on a good pitch, though conditions unlike typical SC.

SC conditions get harder as the match progresses. Easiest on Day 1. Two of the three hundreds were on day 1 itself. While the third ton was significantly luck ridden and Aus had an unassailable lead.

only Viv gets scrutiny etc, Smith and Sobers (to a lesser extent) get it to a much lesser extent.
