I'm pretty sure it was. IIRC it was that Cricinfo bore Anantha Narayanan that came up with the formula for it.I agree (though Wisden wasn't statistical).
When was Lara out? Oh you mean the 1st test when yet again, Healey didn't have the ball in hand yet ran him out?Sachin had a stumping missed by moin .
But then lara was also out lbw but not given.
Instantly makes it worthless tbhI'm pretty sure it was. IIRC it was that Cricinfo bore Anantha Narayanan that came up with the formula for it.
I don’t think Kohli fans think Kohli is better than Tendulkar in Test . In ODIs that is another case.Surely @honestbharani doesn't.....
(Also you shouldn't too. I fear he unironically thinks Tendulkar=Kohli)
Was a close lbw off macgill. I'll try and look up the video. When was Lara out? Oh you mean the 1st test when yet again, Healey didn't have the ball in hand yet ran him out?
Moin missed a stumping and a catch off Sachin b4 he even reached 100. Lara was at least on 140 odd when he was dropped. Anyway, the most important thing is that he won wi the match vs the best attacks in the world at that time.Watch at 10:50 in the Video and 11:23
I know some people who still rate Kohli ahead of Sachin tbf.I don’t think Kohli fans think Kohli is better than Tendulkar in Test . In ODIs that is another case.
In tests? Who??I know some people who still rate Kohli ahead of Sachin tbf.
Tendulkar was in more pressure as the match was against the Arch Rival Pakistan in 1999. As we know the tensions between 2 Countries was rising. Saqlain Mushtaq was in Super Form and of course you have Wasim and Waqar.@Van_Sri
Usually the fundamental criteria in putting an innings in the greatest list is that - it shouldn't be in a losing cause.
So changing the result will change everything.
Just quality-wise, I am not a big fan of the 153*, I felt Lara gave too many chances.
But in context of the pressure on Lara, and the quality of the opposition, and the sheer drama of a 4th innings chase (last 60 runs scored with the last 2 batsmen - Ambrose & Walsh), it is understandably rated very high by everyone who followed it live at the time.
I don't know if he is a troll or not (suspect he is), but if he isn't then he infact thinks something along those lines. Have said a few times Smith in decline is comparable to peak Tendulkar.I don’t think Kohli fans think Kohli is better than Tendulkar in Test . In ODIs that is another case.
Lol India would have won Chennai Test if Pakistan had Warne instead of Saqlain.Sachin Tendulkar’s knock is good
Brian Lara’s knock is legendary
No comparison
Top 5.Lara's 153 is definitely in the top 5 or so innings ever imo with a strong argument for 1.
It’s a good knock but if you want to become a great knock you have to win the match for the teamThat knock isn’t rated highly because India lost the Test .
Spoken the Truth FinallyLol India would have won Chennai Test if Pakistan had Warne instead of Saqlain.
That knock isn’t rated highly because India lost the Test .
There are many dummies on this planetIn tests? Who??
It's no doubt a Great knock, even an ATG one, just not a top tier ATG one. It’s a good knock but if you want to become a great knock you have to win the match for the team
