I honestly didn't realise their rate of 50s/100s was even remotely that close. Obviously, Sachin playing for much longer and doing better overseas tips things decisively in his favor.
not for many because Sachin never reached the highs Lara did.

Lara is talented batsman and one of the best ever to pick up a bat but it’s true as he pointed out he hasn’t scored tons against genuine quick ATGs.

Sachin is arguably the best ever batsman since Don but it is also true he never reached the peak of Smith/Viv or had a monster series like Lara.

Back to the topic, it's fair to say Ponting, especially late Ponting, could be wobbly against good medium pace. But I think Lara was more vulnerable to being bounced out and targeted at his body. So I go for Ponting overall.
