Wait why isn't hadlee the one competing with Wasim for a spot in an ATG XI? Who else does he push out then for youHadlee isn't the one he's competing with.
Imran Khan is way better in every aspect.
He was talking about slip fielding you idiot!Ah yes, Imran the superior batter to Sachin!!
Wasim pushed out Steyn and Imran for him, whom he both rates as better bowlers anyways.Wait why isn't hadlee the one competing with Wasim for a spot in an ATG XI? Who else does he push out then for you
Wait, so effectively he'd pick Wasim, Steyn and Imran ahead of Hadlee in an ATG XI?Wasim pushed out Steyn and Imran for him, whom he both rates as better bowlers anyways.
Yes. For reverse swing.Wait, so effectively he'd pick Wasim, Steyn and Imran ahead of Hadlee in an ATG XI?
You know there is a view results button, right?I only voted to see what the poll outcome was. Otherwise I found such comparisons between bowlers and batsmen absurd and unfair depending on the criteria.
I've explained this countless times.Wait why isn't hadlee the one competing with Wasim for a spot in an ATG XI? Who else does he push out then for you
In other words you do have better bowlers who don't make the ATG XI so using non selection as your yardstick for quality for Imran is bogus. Simple.I've explained this countless times.
Hadlee is easily top 3, and if I chose teams as most people do as just the best, then he walks in.
As I've said, I chose a team that I would want to take the field and Wasim was chosen for 3 reasons.
1. Best old ball bowler ever and could move the ball both ways with conventional or reverse swing.
2. Want someone who can reverse it to give the team the best possible advantages in all conditions. Someone who can bowl the dog overs with Warne and Sobers, and be a consistent threat with the former.
3. A world XI should have more than one person from the S / C, especially one of the bowlers.sjouldnbe included.
I don't pick teams like most do., looking for horses for courses and guys than compliment each other.
If it's just the best guys, only 4 are in contention, Marshall, McGrath, Hadlee and Steyn.
But I'm quite sure you've said that in the past that if player A makes an ATG XI and player B doesn't then that's a good reason to argue player A is better. Do you actually think Wasim is a better cricketer than Hadlee.I've explained this countless times.

There's multiple parts to this answer. But I'm quite sure you've said that in the past that if player A makes an ATG XI and player B doesn't then that's a good reason to argue player A is better. Do you actually think Wasim is a better cricketer than Hadlee.
Nonsense. This is what happens when you make an argument for just one player. Imran is just in a more contested spot that has more variations depending on if folks want two all-rounders or pace heavy attacks. Nothing to do with his standing. There's multiple parts to this answer.
1. I don't select teams the way that I imagine most do. If I'm selecting a team based on normal metrics Hobbs and Hadlee are in. No discussion there.
2. The argument at the time was that Imran was unquestionably the 3rd greatest player of all time. My argument then and now and will always be, if you're the 3rd greatest player of all time then you make every team. There's no argument there, 4 bowlers make the team, if you're literally right after Bradman and Garry then yeah, you're an automatic for everyone's squad.
Even in CW's team he is literally the one fighting for the last place in the team and last time barely made it. The last vote we had with regards to making an attack he was tied with Wasim for 4th among the pacers and way back from the top 3. That's not the easily 3rd greatest player of all time.
For teams there's basically the automatic two (three really but let's not start that argument)
Bradman | Sobers
Then there's the next set of guys that's also practically unanimous but we still go through the process for some reason, though philosophical reasons can impact the latter. But in order...
Marshall | Tendulkar | Gilchrist
Yes one can say Hobbs, but all 5 of these guys gets more votes than Hobbs.
But no where on that list is Imran, that was my point if you have a guy that I'm told is easily the 3rd best player ever.
I know you disagree, but it does make sense.
You can whine all you want, your opinion means little to me.Nonsense. This is what happens when you make an argument for just one player. Imran is just in a more contested spot that has more variations depending on if folks want two all-rounders or pace heavy attacks. Nothing to do with his standing.
You can say Hadlee is a top 5 cricketer and all of this applies to him.
Your argument literally is a player outside ATG XI is lesser rated. Just admit you made a bad argument to begin with that is inconsistent.
You can whine all you want, your opinion means little to me.
It honestly feels like you shoehorned Wasim in the XI over Imran just to make the argument that Imran isn't the 3rd greatest player ever because he doesnt make the ATG XI.You can whine all you want, your opinion means little to me.
My point remains if a player is indisputably the 3rd best player of all time, does he not make any XI period?
Smali thinks he's the 2nd best ever, you can't be the 2nd best and can't make any XI. And you can fuss all you like.
