I mean How can you say he played against more depleted side like sachin for about 15+ years?
I actually watched Smith's career, he has tons of runs against hopeless bowling lineups on flat ROADS, like 2014 BGT against Varun Aaron and Ishant Sharma and co where he made 700+ runs

It is not trolling man , if you are a real test cricket fan , you should not even think of comparing sachin who played 15+ yeaes in Rawalpindi Rawalpindi highway to Kohli, let alone the comparison against the greatest batter after Bradman i.e Steve Smith

My guy

Kohli has three serieses straight from my memory that were played on roads.

1. 2014 BGT, full on road series
2. 2016 England series, all roads
3. 2017 Sri Lanka series, full on roads

without these roads, he averages 40 odd, and then you've him scoring tons on other roads too, like the Wellington road in 2014 and the Ahmedabad road shameless BCCI produced so this guy could get some runs. Only someone who never watched Kohli's career would agree with you

Sachin against top 4 of 90s -44.14 AVG
Kohli' against top 4 since 2018- 37.89 AVG.

Well sachin is compared with Kohli on the basis of what?
He played in 90s ,
So similarly Kohli is playing in the greatest era of Test Cricket.
nobody on this site cares about ODIs

Okay bro

In 90s Steve Waugh against top 3 away -66 AVG,
Sachin against top 3 (same) -41.7 .

Who do you think is the best batsman of 90s?

What is real argument against Steven Smith?
He played 98 out of 114 Tests against SENPI
He is playing in a bowling friendly era
He had arguably best 5 year peak since Bradman
He has had quite a few monster series
He has scored 10000 runs so longevity isn’t an issue
This part is overdone. He isn’t making most of his runs in the actual bowling era - in fact he has struggled (not as bad as Kohli mind you), relatively speaking.
Also home pitches.

Not saying he isn’t in contention for best after Bradman, I think he’s comfortably below Sachin but wouldn’t argue against it too much.

Just saying the bowling era thing is overdone

Smith’s 5 year peak and 80 innings peak is better.

Viv’s peak(1976-1981)
35 Tests. 53 innings. 3500 runs @ 68.6. 12 tons.

Smith’s peak(2014-2019)
56 Tests. 99 innings. 6194 runs @ 72.02. 24 tons.

Sachin prime vs Steve Smith downfall
And what is surprising is that Steve Smith playing>74 percent against top 4
Sachin played only 48 percentages.
Steve Smith is different class all together.
Sachin against top 4 in 90s -46 avg away -44 AVG
Steve Smith since 2018 against top 4 - 44.11 avg away average -48.

he was averaging 75, but for 5 years, something Viv also did but in a much tougher era, and Sobers also averaged 75 for 10 years, and they were better outside of their peak.
Lol Steve Smith downfall in a much harder era is still better than/ equivalent to sachin Tendulkar's prime (as per his devotees).
