two overs in a row now that a needless boundary’s conceded at fine leg bc of the fielder diving forward at a ball that was always going to land just in front even with the dive

Seriously? Where are England’s boundary riders here, because they aren’t anywhere close to where they’re getting hit

Desperately needed that wicket

i hate to rag on a female host of a sports thing because they get so much misogynistic crap, and it is hard enough to be in those male dominated industries

but i get the feeling that this erin holland person a) knows next to nothing about cricket and b) can’t read a tele prompter
respectfully she’s just ahhhh so stiff lmao

Definitely an improvement from the T20 World Cup. Nice to have the finishers actually come in at the end.

I don't know where this version of McGrath has been for the past year but I'm glad to have her back.

Jeez that’s a bit of a damp squib of a series scoreline tstl.

Credit to Aus after losing Gardner and Healy pregame but still getting it done. Still papering over some cracks imo, but fair enough getting it done.

England got some serious resetting to do asap

I don’t mind the team losing to one that bowls and bats better (and Aus are a bit better), but there’s a gulf in class in the fielding and that’s unacceptable. This could’ve been a 160-70 chase which might’ve been achievable, but they’re just killing themselves every time.

To not accept the issues that are so glaringly obvious really should lead to a management set up change.

This is obviously still a strong Aus sides but England sides have put up far more of a fight against stronger Aus sides in the past; I really expected a lot more of a contest in this series.

I think the most disappointing thing is how far short England are from their potential. There is some quality but the basics are poor. After 3 overs there had already been wides, miss-fields and a drop.

I can't see Lewis lasting beyond this series, similar for Knight, Wyatt-Hodge and as for NSB it all depends on how long she wants to keep going for.

Well played Australia, well deserved retention of the Ashes.

Dunkley was excellent. Looks quality. Sort of player you can build a line up around tbh.
Agreed. She's taken some flack but gone and put in some hard work with a few changes to her technique. There is some good young talent, I'm a fan of Capsey too despite her going through a lean spell. A new coach is definitely required to take them on.

That was literally her first innings of substance in about 3 years. Her, Capsey and Bouchier have been taking turns in who can be the most crap (Capsey currently winning that). They all have talent but are horribly inconsistent, another blight on the management,

I think that says more about the coaching as you say. They are still young, their game developing, if they hit their potential they can go far

Where's Issy Wong at these days?

I've always liked Dunkley so I'm happy to see her back doing well. Hopefully she can sustain it.
