what's wrong with Windies batting? their bowling is fine, but the batting is legit Zimbabwe tier
Lewis, Pooran and Hope haven't been available for red-ball duties, Brandon King gets seemingly overlooked for tests. Kevlon Anderson and Kevin Wickham are probably two younger batters that will hopefully have a good domestic season and then come in to the conversation.

I've heard the domestic pitches in windies might have something to do with the batting problems.

166 wickets @ 22 in FC also. Maybe he's just having a bad test. Shades of Herath in him.
I was thinking about this earlier. He started his test career really well, with lots of variation and guile, not dropping short much.

Then he essentially became our multi format spinner, and since then his average speed has gone up and he drops short all of the time.

He has not been the same red bowler since.

Jesus christ, what's wrong with those pitches?
When you tell young kids that West Indies used to have the greatest players of spin bowling of all time they look at you funny ..

Even the guys before the 80's your Kallicharran's , Kanhai's , Sobers etc they would murder spinners even on rank turners.

Brathwaite needs runs. Past 29 Test innings he has only two 50+ scores (61 & 75). His last Test century came in February 2023.
Yep I imagine this is his last series as captain at a minimum. Not sure Sammy is his biggest fan and his numbers are awful, just like the rest of our batting lineup.

Pooran in white ball cricket is generally excellent as well. Hety started off brilliantly against spin, not so sure now. Can't think of of anyone else to make a case for.
The white ball is so different from the red cherry. Spin with the old red ball on a spicy wicket is a whole different experience than playing curry goat cricket.

Hetmyer is a designated finisher now. The hope of him playing test cricket again is nearly gone. Ironically, the keeper in the 2016 U-19 WC winning team is playing his first test match
