Does that mean he's been unlucky, or regularly gets pumped?man fisher just cant catch a break in t20s
Good. Let him develop as a longer form bowler and use that blinding speed for good, not to go 30 rows back. He's that skiddy type of bowler that, unless he develops change ups and a good plan, is going to be a perfect pace for good batsmen looking to attack himman fisher just cant catch a break in t20s
I swear players don't develop until I deem them cooked. Last week I said he must be a hell of a dude given ND keep picking him, then he peels off 90 then a tonKatene's pulls against Hazeldine's short balls were ***y af, I can see why ND have backed him this hard
he is insanely block-bash though - the 'eat up 30 balls until your eye is in' strategy isn't going to fly at higher levels. Interested to see how he develops.
Otago showed a fair bit of tenacity yesterday. Nothing went right in the first innings, and ND put up a huge score. Otago sides of the last couple of years would have rolled over and got smacked by 100+ runs. This side kept on fighting. Had no right to get as close as they did in the end. Sometimes a fighting loss can speak more about how a team is placed than winning easily.
It's been a year mate, must be time for the update of the SteveNZ XI line up. Might also be good to see the SteveNZ Duds XI so we know who's going to have an immediate run of form.I swear players don't develop until I deem them cooked. Heaphy averages 50.3 in List A with a strike rate of... 63.8. His role is cake. It's more Bruce who was struggling here imo. They gotta seriously consider retiring Heaphy here
edit: I think he heard me
Bruce has a track record of playing ludicrous knocks, he's allowed a few balls to get in.Heaphy averages 50.3 in List A with a strike rate of... 63.8. His role is cake. It's more Bruce who was struggling here imo.
Not yet IMO. Retire him and bring Clarkson in just before the 19th over.Bruce has a track record of playing ludicrous knocks, he's allowed a few balls to get in.
You don't need cake with 5 overs left in a T20. Having said that, CD's batting lineup is pretty shallow. If they had another gun hitter down the order it would be clearer cut.
He's shown he can hit spin fine but he's struggled to slog pace all through the innings, and that's going to be the rest of the innings. Not yet IMO. Retire him and bring Clarkson in just before the 19th over.
