Given the tap given to Ellis and Meredith, Bean's figures look more than alright.

Be interesting to see how this total holds up, this pitch does look a belter.

I love how he comes from obscurity, bowls 4 overs in the BBL and now he's a Test replacement for Starc???

Meanwhile, both openers dropped in the first over, and it goes for 17!!

I'd give it a 50/50 England try to poach him, he's got a passport and it's only a three year qualification. Whereas our setups tend to be studious at ignoring people who didn't come through an age group pathway or are otherwise in favour.

The one advantage England have with their sprawling FC system is that you can give guys like him a go and try develop them into FC cricketers like they are trying to do with Hull. Here Bean's probably not even getting in the second xi and certainly won't be getting matches over more reliable operators like Bell, even though he has much better ingredients to eventually be a test class bowler.

Edit: Well maybe not when it was their setup or near it that actually caught fire.
