Jasprit Bumrah

Dont see bumrah bowling again in 2nd inn. his Test career is in doubt after another back injury. Hes 31 years old and it gets tougher to recover as you get old. hes one injury away from being career ending- see the likes of Bond, James Pattinson, Jofra Archer, Josh Hazlewood etc.. All examples were basically career ending. All four had stress fractures in the back. All were great bowlers yes, but limited longevity for all...
Hazlewood, even if he never plays another test has played 72 tests over a decade and taken 279 wickets. That puts him in the top 45 wicket takers of all time, ahead of Garner, Holding, Lindwall, Philander, Grimmett and a bunch of other bowlers who have had "complete" careers.

Best bowling series here since hadlee. Could've challenged him for top spot without the injury maybe.
I had commented that I want Bumrah to get 25 wickets in 5 tests @20.00 before the series.

Already got way more than what I bargained for!

Bumrah was obviously brilliant but he played in excellent conditions for bowling

Johnson was unbelievable because he literally blasted the Poms out for 5 tests in pretty good batting conditions

Id put Bumrah and hadlee as #1 and #2. They were normal height. Ambrose was 6'7.

Ridiculous skills from all but to generate that many wickets from a normal height is insanely skillful.
Hadlee and Bumrah had to nurture their skills to achieve it, Ambrose was both nature and nurture.

yep. helps if you are 6,7 and athletic and accurate, i mean the bounce, most batters wont have a clue on that, forget anything else.

Am really hoping that NZ have both Jamieson and O'Rourke fit and firing with bounce and swing/pace in 2 years
Jamieson is probably a write off. hes 30 years old now and rarely plays. Hes similar to Aussies Jhye Richardson or Engs Jofra Archer- rarely plays, mostly out every season for this surgery or that, and when they come back, its for 1 game and back out for another year of surgery...

Ambrose did it against a far stronger Australian batting line up.
