Get the record books out something is happening tonight
2nd highest score behind 273 but well in front of now 3rd's 232
2nd most runs in a match behind that crazy Strikers chase of 230 a couple years back
Both matches involve a Matt Short century
This flurry of runs yet D Short dominates with 4-15

After two blazing, high scoring matches went on behind a paywall last night, free-to-air viewers now get to be subjected to two uninspiring to terrible Melbourne teams scrap it out on a Dockland ****heap where 148 will be a good score.

I hope so. A better balance between bat and ball would be nice. A tight game chasing 150-180 is ideal imo.
If the sides were top tier, maybe. But watching teams of the quality in this comp scrap it out on a pitch where the batsmen can't safely play through the line of the ball tends to be more annoying than anything else.

So turns out the bloke in the crowd who caught a six hit off Haskett last night was Haskett’s old man. Pretty random set of circs.
Loved the cold shoulder his wife gave him after the catch. Apparently one of the reporter's on the game was taught biology in Y12 by his missus and talked a ton of smack after the scene. Not a great day for the hatcher family Allround.

Harry Dixon in the Renegades XI by the looks of things

Listed to bat 7 according to crapinfo though, which seems... odd
Cricinfo usually has no idea where to put young players who have barely played any professional cricket yet.

Having said that it could be accurate - looking at that XI, I dunno where else you'd fit him in.

Fox/Kayo had the same proposed order a couple of minutes after I posted that fwiw

Would definitely prefer to see him higher than that personally

EDIT: yeah you are absolutely right about the team structure, got more top order players than top order batting spots

Yeah I just don't know how though. They've picked four blokes who really should bat top four and then you have Seifert and Sutherland, who will be more trusted in those middle-over slots.

Very true.

Personally I would have strongly considered giving JFM a spell entirely, but we both know that was never going to happen

Also further to your point about cricinfo not knowing their arse from their elbow, Dixon is listed as an allrounder there.

From what little I have seen, his offies are VERY part time
