*Official* Women's Ashes 2025

It's almost gone unnoticed that this is starting in less than 48 hours. Australia must start as massive favourites, but are they as strong as they used to be? In batting, almost certainly, but not sure they have such a strong pace attack these days. England have fitness issues over Cross who seems unlikely to play in the opening ODI.

It should be high quality and competitive, but hard to see England winning on foreign soil.

Timings of matches not great for viewing in England, surprised they couldn't make the ODI's D/N games, but I guess that would clash with the BBL Circus.

Regarding the Australian pace attack, I wonder how long it'll be before they pick Chloe Ainsworth. She seems to be an exceptional young talent.

i hate to rag on a female host of a sports thing because they get so much misogynistic crap, and it is hard enough to be in those male dominated industries

but i get the feeling that this erin holland person a) knows next to nothing about cricket and b) can’t read a tele prompter

It's odd because there is absolutely no shortage of women who are professional broadcast hosts who are cricket mad/extremely knowledgeable these days

i'm glad i'm not the only one that has noticed, i picked it up first during some bbl sideline interviews where it's kind of clear she doesn't know what words mean

Either Dope Test every Australian women cricketer thrice to be 100% sure of result or end this farce called Women’s cricket .
What is the point of any sports event when one Team wins everything ?

huge part of why the aussie women's team is so good is money and support on several levels to be fair... this hegemony is the result of a decades long project from CA, broadcasters and of course the players themselves to boost visibility, interest, professionalism, and support for the women's game here and it's worked wonders!
