Pollock was only considered inferior to Sobers and some even considered him an equal of Sobers, and looking at his tragically short but amazing and widespread record, I don't think it's crazy to think he's one of the best ever.

Pollock and Barry were like the South African Sobers and Viv

Definitely Pollock is an ATG, Barrington a no for me and arguable at best.

Not sure about that as I think those two are literally some of the best ever, But I don't mind Pollock in the high ATG convo tbh, very good record.
In the 1970's, all the way through WSC, Barry was very much in that conversation. That's after being unquestionably the best batsman in the world until Viv removed the title from him.

You may not agree, but contemporaneously, and I'm sure @peterhrt would verify, it wasn't a question. Barry was very much in that category.

What about Van Der Bijl? Is he an ATG? Don't dodge this.
