Is there a shortage of Aussie wicket keeper batsmen? Billings, Alsop, Banton, Siefert, Hurst, Pope have all done a keeping job so far, and at least 2 of them are not even regular keepers.

Inglis is injured and he normally keeps for Perth. Gilkes is playing here for the Thunder but as a batsman only (I know). There does seem to be a shortage of locals playing with the gloves though

The team recruiters seem to think that someone will be good just because they're an English keeper-bat.

Sam Whiteman is a far better cricketer than whoever is keeping for Perth too. Hobart/Tasmania usually have about 4 keepers in their side. Don;t know why Jimmy Pierson isn't playing but he would be better than most of those others too.

It's happening everywhere, Dan Mousley got in the England team bowling this stuff. It did seem to get found out in International T20's though, but works rather too well at this level.
