Scott Boland

the big bambino

Cricketer Of The Year
He sure is a quiet and strong personality. As far as the comments on his effectiveness OS and on certain types of wickets, Boland played many years on flat pitches at home in the shield. His experience being a little harder than most other fast bowlers over the last decade. He's developed a game based on good lines and now put his skills of accuracy and seam on these pitches and his success is understandable.

I'm not sure its fair to write him off OS on a few tests that England's highest wicket taker struggled on and you'd have to take him to SL. I like watching him bowl and think he was just the sort of ingredient Aus needed this summer to vary a bowling combination that has been very successful but have found India to be a hard side to crack.

Hes on the plane to SL as Cummins is not playing. Starc, Sean Abbott would be there as well. Not sure id take Jhye, id like him to build his fitness in the domestic competitions further for the next series/ WTC possibility and the tour of the West Indies in June.

What's the likely attack
Starc, Boland, Lyon, Murphy, Webster??

Only 1 pacer.

Kuhnemann helped win this game, their most recent win against a good side in the subcontinent. Murphy only got 1 wicket , whereas kuhnemann got 6 wickets this match.

Starc, Webster, Murphy, Lyon, Kuhnemann to be the attack based off this data point.

Importantly, Head to open with Khawaja as its spinners. Konstas to be dropped base off 3 failures in a row and he got beat by a Jadeja straight ball- imagine how poorly he will play in the subcontinent. Handscomb to be included same as the above example, specialist spin player.

Head
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Smith (C)
Handscomb
Webster (all rounder)
Carey (W/K)
Starc
Murphy
Lyon
Kuhnemann.
