I suspect it probably did touch the ground and that the ball touches the ground more often than decisions indicate. But where was the replay from the direction of point - which is quite a common angle - that could have shown us much better?

Also in seriousness it's not that shocking a decision and pretty understandable how he came to it with the observable loss of control.
I can understand that verdict (Kohli first ball) as there was some doubt.
I have always been sceptical of the explanation that 'the fingers are actually under the ball, it's just foreshortening' when it comes to these sorts of decisions. However, that decision would be out according to the standards by which such catches have been almost always judged.

Does Channel 7 realise they could save money and omit these analyses with Copeland? It would take away nothing and make the broadcast more pleasant to watch.
