Honestly Aus could bat Carey at six, Cummins at seven, play an extra out and out bowler and they would still be better off than with Marsh this series. He’s genuinely in Marcus Harris territory

Marsh is the problem. It means Starc and Cummins get overbowled and the former in particular has a long history of dropping off badly when overbowled. We can all talk around it, but the all-rounder position whether Green or Marsh or someone else is absolutely critical to the balance of this team unless it's an actual turner, and playing a nonentity in that position causes a dozen other problems to radiate out over the rest of the attack (as well as making the batting order look very short).
The problem with Marsh is that he doesn’t score any runs so the bowlers have to do his batting as well

Whatever it takes!!!
Hasn’t really been a spinner’s series so far. Wickets falling so regularly to the quicks kind of means they get extra overs compared with normal, but do agree he bowled poorly first innings here. I thought he was reasonable in Brisbane to the extent he was used
Wasn't talking about this series specifically. I feel like Lyon has been inconsistent ever since the BG trophy during covid. He has randomly excelled in few games but his lows have been far lower than usual and that has added to the pressure on your 3 great seamers.

Harris at least hung around while Marsh is just a walking wicket

Shame Neser is injured

He was really good in the one Ashes Test he played last year. Obviously pinged his calf in the next one so we'll never know how he would have gone for the rest of it.

Jaiswal better make some runs in the second innings with all his drops, not to mention running himself out in the first innings.

Rohit can't be too critical of him though, he has been a bigger liability for India so far in this series and needs to make runs too.
