Not happy about Pakistan's batting myself especially against Paterson , I don't believe Paterson is our best new ball bowler in a one off test match final if we qualify , but due to the wickets he is taking he will have to play I guess.
Hey they've been equally generous to Jansen and KG as well TBF. Paterson could be useful in England with the Dukes.

This Saud Shakeel fella reminds me of a little Asad Shafique. A fighter
I know what you mean and this will keep being said. I look at it as just a bit of fun and a team being able to play towards something. To take it seriously seriously, there needs to be a few tweaks.

The imbalance is because of so many issues starting with the big 3 playing each other regularly & other series often 2-match test series.

SA & I'm sure New Zealand, Pakistan & Sri Lanka must feel it's difficult to build combinations & getting players to learn quickly with such few test matches. So there is a big disadvantage already.

This SA team is still far from the finished article but in a way that is what has been impressive about it. Especially with all the injuries and depth being tested.

Really hope 3-match series minimum is pushed ahead for the next cycle even if the scheduling has been done already.
Problem isn't the interest, it's the financial capability. Does Test cricket really lose so much money? If so, surely it is unsustainable as a form of sport. Why can nations "only afford to host 2 tests" at a time? Why can't Pakistan or the WI sell any tickets to games, whilst England tests are often sold out months ahead of time?

pathetic display from Pakistan. South Africa haven't been particularly impressive, no offence, but they will get found out against better opposition.

They aren't as good as India or Australia but I think the apparent lack of interest in the flawed WTC ties in with their general laid back attitude which is consciously the opposite to be a more traditional regime and sometimes goes too far. They didn't seem to take the 3rd test v SL or NZ wholly seriously this year with both series wrapped up and obviously haven't addressed the over rate issues either.
Do you think they would have taken it seriously if they were still in the running? I do.

When my team is doing poorly in a sporting code I always nonchalantly pretend I was never interested anyway or that sporting code doesnt matter :whistling

Eg my Stormers team is doing poorly in the URC, so all of a sudden that competition doesnt mean anything now. It was a different story when they were winning it...

I don't think they totally disregard it but I don't think it's entirely a front that they don't take it wholly seriously because that fits in with their general happy go lucky attitude. They strive to be the opposite of a more traditional regime and have brought pros and cons.

I doubt Marco meant that but he'll put many batsmen away if he can master the yorker from around the wicket ..That can't be an easy delivery to negotiate when you're expecting the ball to rise everytime

I guess we will see what happens when England are one win away from a WTC final and they are 2-0 against someone…

England obviously take it seriously but pretend not to since they’re not good enough to win it
When did I say they are in the top 2 teams? I just said SA aren't and the unbalanced schedules make the WTC a flawed tournament. Of course England get brought up as usual.
