Yeah I still remember the amount of personal vitriol I copped when I commented in the Australian Cricket Scores and Updates Facebook group that Langer needed to let it go and move on. Just unbelievable.

I love Australia but this mix of mawkish sentimentality and bombastic nationalism some people display is really off putting. Obviously all countries do that to some extent but my most recent experiences have been in Aus so it stands out to me. Of course it is encouraged by many of the media outlets and politicians here.

I do love this country and most people don’t do this, but you can’t dispute that a lot do.

I would add "obvious technical flaw" there but yes, I agree. In fact, for the longest time I feel that should extend to atleast 10 runs or 20 odd balls or so.

Not an opinion, but a question:
How the **** did Damien Fleming only play 20 tests, despite having 75 wickets at 25?
I always assumed he had over 200. Was always an excellent bowler.

If he played for England, he would've possibly taken 300 test wickets

Competition as well as injuries. Gillespie was injured for most of Fleming's career too, if not Fleming might have played a lot less even. Brett Lee coming along and Gillespie being more available post-2000 pretty much finished him.
