Gray area I think but Stoinis definitely did ask "how is that" after the ball went dead. Umpires just cbf doing their jobs.

EDIT: Laws seem to imply that the only reason a dismissal can be given without an appeal is if the batsman walks

I don't think the initial actions from Siddle or Stoinis count as an appeal but we saw Stoinis go back to the ump but the audio was spoken over by the commentators wanting to joke around with Maxwell instead of letting us listen to whether there was an actual appeal

Sam Billings says that the umpire repeatedly asked Peter Siddle if they wanted to appeal and Siddle said no. NUFAN, your boy has questions to answer.

Although he did have a really good BBL series a few years ago.

That said, his one Shield game this year he scored 150 & 50. Maybe leaving NSW was what the doctor ordered.
