For Bumrah's career average to fall into 23s, he has to average more than 26.5 for his next 194 wickets.

First 194 wickets @ 19.5
Next 194 wickets @ 26.5

Net = 384 wickets @ 23.00

So he has to drop to that level to mess his career avg. Therefore it's likely to finish in 20s or 21s even after potentially 300-350 wickets.

I think Bumrah is currently behind 9 ATGs-

1. Marshall
2. McGrath
3. Hadlee
4. Steyn
5. Imran
6. Ambrose
7. Wasim
8. Lillee
9. Donald
10. Bumrah

I have him around 10th amongst the pacers. Probably needs some more longevity to be a certain top 10.

With decent longevity, 70+ tests and 300+ wickets, he should finish top 5 IMO.

Hopefully the longer he plays, the more kids and teenagers he inspires, in India and around the world, to become fast bowlers, so that we get more quality pacers in the years to come.

In no way he's gonna take that many wickets.

Let's say he takes 315 wickets in career, he'd have to average 28.58 while taking his remaining wickets.

If he plays till 36/37 without year long injury/s, then he can get 350+
Ok I was taking in worst case scenarios tbh.

For best case scenario,
He has played 43 tests since 2018. That'd be 7.167 tests per match. Let's say, he played till 37 at 7.25 test per year, he'll play 43/44 more tests. And as his WPM has increased noticably in the last few years, assuming that he'll take his future wickets at 4.69 wickets per match, he could take 204 wickets in his next year's.

So that'd be:-
398 wickets in 87 matches.

Don't think it'll happen tho. Conservative prediction of 320 wickets in 70 matches is much more realistic imo.

Waqar had the pace tho.
I mean Bumrah's fastest delivery was as fast as Waqar's fastest delivery.
Waqar Younis= 153 kmph
Jasprit Bumrah= 153.26 kmph
I know, that's not a fair comparison, but Bumrah's delivery would reach the batter with just as fast speed as Waqar for his release point, even if the speedgun reading is slower.
Plus a better Yorker as well.
That's debatable.
Better runup, better action.
Doesn't matter, as long as you're doing the thing you're supposed to do.
better stats.
Again, debatable.

You are smoking crack here. Bumrah isn’t as fast as Peak Waqar. Peak Waqar was genuine express, quicker than Bumrah easily. A genuine express with killer inswinger, just tore the opposition apart. The runup, the action, unmatchable.
