Lyon was actually spotted having a very long chat with Ashwin this morning and explained it quite cagily so I suspect the Aus players already knew about this too

Whatever it takes!!!
They lost most of their top order wickets not even scoring quick though, just got out normally. There's no way it was intentional.
TBF a lot of those were half assed strokes where they started looking to play a shot and then tried to back into defence. Dont think they get out like that batting normally. But given its Australia, its quite possible they would have collapsed batting normally too.

End of an era . A lot of players going to be retiring after the next 12 months. Khawaja, Smith, Lyon as well for the aussies.

Kohli and Rohit, for the indians.
Smith and Cummins seem to be the last of the tough Aussie breed of cricketers. Not sure how the coming generation holds up.

Well some pundits may call it "A tame old Draw" but both teams seemed evenly matched throughout the match IMPO. Each team had its moments of ascendancy and low moments when the wheels fell off. So I suppose what each team has to offer on Boxing Day and the Sydney "pink "Test remains to be seen.

Hopefully 38 year old Khawaja has a deep and heavy chat to 38 year old retired Ashwin

I think khawaja is done, he just doesn't know it

He may have decided after the first test for some reason. Could be carrying some niggle as well which means he cant be at his best. Best person to decide is the person himself. It is usually the age people retire.

Ashwin: "This will be my last day as an Indian cricketer in all formats at the international level," Ashwin said after the Brisbane Test at a press conference. "I feel there's a little bit of punch left in me as a cricketer, but I'd like to express that, showcase that in club-level cricket.

Really good that he will carry on playing domestic cricket, don't see enough of that anymore
