**Official** 3rd Test @Brisbane (Ewwwww), 14th-18th December

State Captain
bumrah best test bowler since Mcgrath retired? Ave is only 19. I dont recall any better bowlers in tests since Mcgraths retirement in 2006, maybe Steyn but Bumrah even better figures.

Philander for me. A man for any deck if he chose to play any deck.

Certainly way more competitive on a series to series basis, no?
It has been for about 10-15 years, but I mean if India toured here before then and won a session it was cause for celebration. They couldn't win here in 04 with arguably their best ever batting side and Aus without arguably its two best bowlers of all time.

Doesn't hold a candle to the Ashes tbh. But it should keep trying.

He’s definitely in the conversation but this is a very easy era for bowling with how poor test batting is atm

Yeah he's fantastic. He and Steyn certainly the best visiting bowlers here since the fag end of the golden Windies era, and I'd have him in front. Just a great bowler.

Apart from 2011-12, the tours here have been very competitive since the turn of the century even when India had shite bowling attacks. Usually made enough runs to stay in the game.

Well ashes is about much more than competitiveness. Ashes still were more important even with the Windies. It’s like india vs Pakistan. It’s not necessarily about the cricket by itself, it’s the history.

Clearly most Aussies would take guaranteed Ashes wins over BGT wins, but in terms of sheer competitiveness, there have been few more competitive series.
