**Official** 3rd Test @Brisbane (Ewwwww), 14th-18th December

Whatever it takes!!!
Surely Gill has had enough chances now to realise he isn't the long term answer? Jaiswal's just a kid but Gill has played, what, like 30 tests and averages 36? Don't get me wrong that would probably get him into the Aus top order comfortably too, but India isn't a country lacking options
See the fact that Pant, Gill and Jaiswal are inconsistent will be a huge issue at any other time in our cricket but right now, the fact that we have Virat and Rohit who cant buy a run means these guys' issues get lost in the slipstream.

even if Rohit and Rahul ton up here, that's just another 200~ runs the score? 244/4 with this lower order, we're still looking at conceding a significant lead. Best hope here is that these two bat out the day and the lineup hangs on for a session tomorrow, which means conceding around ~100 run lead with 5 sessions of play left. Aus could smash it for a session and a bit, declare, and give themselves 2.5-3.5 sessions to bowl India out again. So we really need rain.

More realistically we get bowled out within today, Aus enforce the follow on, and win the game despite losing nearly two days to rain.

Thank you Rainman.

Australia will 100% enforce the follow on given that there will be hardly any extended sessions of bowling and because India will get rolled for less than 150 or 200.

Yeah I can't see them doing anything but this if they bowl India out cheaply, given the forecast.

Given Rahul has 62.5% of team runs, could that long standing most % of runs in an innings get broken?

(Bannerman has the record of 67.35% of innings runs back in 1877)

Pant not the same player from before the accident IMHO. Average could drop into the 30s from around low 50s in the initial period. Currently still low 40s.

I think, Jurel, is a better player than Pant post-injury IMHO. Steadier batting - 40 AVE, hes only 23 vs Pant 27 so has upside given his age and some scope for improvement?

Not many keepers/bat averaging 40+ in tests. Most are in the 30s.

Still they will persist with him, as hes entertaining.

Surprised how much more effective Starc has been this time. Usually never really bother Indi from memory.
He's been a lot better in tests for about 18 months or so tbh. Scrambled seam and not excliusively looking to bowl really full and swing it has improved him a lot.

despite some criticism at times, hes the 2nd best left armer in Test cricket history. Akram obviously, is #1 and well ahead of Starc as his average is low 20s, no one has been to Akrams level since in left arm fast bowling.

So its

Akram
**

Starc

**

And then the rest imho.
