@kyear2 do you consider this possible? That Bumrah can be the best ever based on current trajectory?I will be surprised if it happens
All of this reminds me of those heady days during Smith's peak.

Bookmarked (2).Bumrah>Marshall is going to be majority consensus in few years.
In England also it’s above 25 cause of the WTc final against NZ. So there also his record is very good. It’s the performance in and vs NZ that is the only holeBumrah’s average
In WI : 9 in 2 Tests
In Ind : 17 in 12 Tests
In Aus : 18 in 10 Tests
In SA : 21 in 8 Tests
In Eng : 26 in 9 Tests
In NZ : 31 in 2 Tests
In 2025 India will tour England for 5 Tests.
In 2026 India will tour NZ for 2 Tests.
If those two series turn out to be great for him and he can finish 300+ wickets at the same rate, he will be a strong contender for GOAT fast bowler
Guys, please make sure you don't jinx anybody.
Umm no. Bumrah funny enough, however is bowling under very similar circumstances to Marshall imo. He's bowling as part of a strong attack, he's played most of his game overseas, he's bowling in an era where no team really has an atg batting lineup but a few are challenging. On his current trajectory and assuming he doesn't get injured, he may very well end up being the goat fast bowler......Bumrah would probably average around 11 if he had guys like Ambrose/Garner/Holding/Walsh/Bishop/Roberts bowling with him
Marshall was very lucky to have such a great pace attack around him
True. Just checked. His numbers against England in away conditions are good as well.In England also it’s above 25 cause of the WTc final against NZ. So there also his record is very good. It’s the performance in and vs NZ that is the only hole
Or get better and better like Walsh.Bumrah is 30 years old.
Only time will tell if his can maintain his record like Ambrose or if his numbers will dip like Pollock
No way. It would be crazy if that happens. Jasprit Bumrah taking 300+ wickets and ending with an average less than 20 would be crazy.Or get better and better like Walsh.
Was also MoTS in 2021True. Just checked. His numbers against England in away conditions are good as well.
8 Tests. 37 wickets. Avg of 23.
On a serious note, I just can't see Bumrah maintaining this form and playing long enough (atleast 6 more years) to really be an equal of Marshall-Hadlee-McGrathUmm no. wasn't it shared? Was also MoTS in 2021
Yes, or else Root would had it solely.wasn't it shared?
Just for reference, Pollock I believe reached 300 with a 20 average. No way. It would be crazy if that happens. Jasprit Bumrah taking 300+ wickets and ending with an average less than 20 would be crazy.
Walsh’s first half : 60 Tests. Avg of 25.
Walsh’s second half : 72 Tests. Avg of 23.
Barring injury and Indian board completely messing up, I don't see who stops him honestly. Away to England, i think he'll have a field day. He's currently cleaning up arguably the best batting lineup in world cricket in their own backyard. South Africa and WI have minnowesque batting at the moment so he'll feast against them. I can see him setting the record straight vs NZ who again don't have a particularly amazing batting line up. Ditto SL. So again assuming he remains in relatively good shape, I don't see why he can't remain sub 20 for the foreseeable future and end up as the goat. The caveat as always before people come out with their pitchforks is if he's FIT....No way. It would be crazy if that happens. Jasprit Bumrah taking 300+ wickets and ending with an average less than 20 would be crazy.
