**Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Surprising that Stokes has bowled so much, after choosing to bowl first I guess he feels like he needs to lead from the front to try and take a wicket.

He isn't looking that threatening at the moment but he is the sort of guy that can take a few wickets quickly like Botham and turn a match on it's head.

That was probably England's session with 3 wickets for 79 runs, we are still in a good position at tea but not as good a position as we were at lunch.

England's bowlers have kept on coming at us as they have done all series and aren't making it easy for our batsmen, not many easy runs out there.

So, basically Chch day 1 again.

Which was a soft day of test cricket, but also nz's best of the series.

Southee's parents saying he was a better rugby player than a cricketer as a youngster, I don't think he would have any regrets about choosing cricket.

I doubt he would have had a better career playing for the All Blacks if he had played a test for them at all, it's easier to play for NZ in cricket than rugby.

If any of our current players should have been a good rugby player it's Daryl Mitchell whose old man coached the All Blacks and the Western Force.
