Thread for general discussion surrounding the 3rd test at the Woolloongabba Ground, Shitsville.

Australia has only lost 2 Tests at the Gabba in the last 36 years, both of them played in late January instead of the usual Nov/Dec Test.

Glad this Test is in mid December 😀

We're cooked. Lost all momentum from Perth inside of three days. The batters might even cobble together a decent score as the wickets get easier from here on out but the bowling has a shocking lack of oomph other than Jasprit. We need five bowlers and Reddy isn't cutting it as the fifth option, so Jadeja has to replace him for now and then a decision to be made between Ashwin and Sundar. Ideally we'd go in with a 4-pronged seam attack but we simply don't have anyone even of Shardul's caliber who can swing the bat around. Let's just select our best guys and hope they come good.

Just wondering how much emphasis we should put in to the Adelaide game.....has Australia ever lost a pink ball Test?

I'd love to know the difference in a Starc pink ball average versus a red ball one.

He averages about 17 in pink ball games and about 29 with the red ball.

Though he's in great form this year in general.

Whatever it takes!!!
I guess I would like to see Akashdeep for Rana, Sundar for Ash and Jaddu for NKR but they are not dropping NKR. What I would really want to see would be this side -

Jaiswal
Rahul
Gill
Virat
Pant (wk)
Jaddu
NKR
Washy
Akashdeep
Bumrah (c)
Siraj

Gavaskar: "I think the feet aren't moving as they should. He needs to do a little bit of exercise before coming to the crease and try to get some circulation going in the legs. Do some jogging before you take the first ball"

I can imagine Rohit's reaction to that. Starts with a C and ends with an A after five seconds

It’s hard to say because India’s batting has been bad at least since their recent nz series. They made one big score in that series, and that was after being rolled for <50 in the first dig. Aus’s batting is inconsistent too though. It’s a weird series tbh

I dont think its a competition as of now. Our batting sucks balls and we did not help ourselves by not having flatter wickets in the home series, which could have helped their confidence and concentration, if nothing else. Australia are inconsistent, at worst at home which means the odd freak lollapse aside, they shoud win comfortably.

That said, India do have a habit (or had under the earlier coaches) of picking up when there are controversies and seemingly insurmountable obstacles on their way. If they can find that mojo, Gabba should be an interesting test indeed.

But I am not expecting anything other than the same lame <200 collapses both innings from our batsmen.

Just play both Jadeja and Ashwin you imbeciles. Its foolish the dogmatic attitude they have towards team composition. Cant just keep picking pacers just because the conditions are pace friendly. It's no use if the pacers are garbage tier. The nincompoops in charge of selection are acting like we have the 80s windies quartet in the squad so the spinners cant get a game, when in reality it's har-very-**** rana and nitish reddy-to-bowl-another-half-tracker.

What happens next is hard to predict. But Aus being nigh on unbeatable in pink ball Tests means that India really should just draw a line through this one and move on.

That 1-111 in the Perth 2nd innings suggests away from a pink ball they can get at him.

India should win this fairly comfortably

Australia played their little day night trick. Used all their experience to get one over India but now the real cricket is back and the better team should win
