Yeah I was really surprised he immediately said "not out"; I genuinely can't see where the ball touches the ground.
I went back to the replay that showed it from behind and I think it bounces off the ground and back into Carey's glove before he fumbles it again.

Btw this match was lost when Rohit the idiot persisted with Rana when Travis Head was early in his innings, and all the pressure created by Boom and Siraj was lost

Whatever it takes!!!
I think Rohit is definitely a net negative for us now in tests. And so was Pant this test, unfortunately. But its all really moot at this time. We should have tried bowling first maybe as this batting is never gonna make even 250+ batting first, no matter what the conditions are.

And lets face it. It was a 350 par pitch and had we batted well enough and not thrown wickets away in the first innings, we could have been in far better positions this test, alongside taking our catches etc.

I think only Rohit and Gill got out to proper wicket taking balls this innings, and maybe Jaiswal and Ashwin alone in the first innings. That is what has cost us this test, those and the dropped catches.

Eighth five-wicket haul for Pat Cummins as skipper - only Imran Khan (12) & Richie Benaud (9) have more such instances.
Impressive stuff

So India scoring only 180 & 175 had nothing to do with it 😆
It did but after Aus secured a lead of 157, I had little hope from India to set up a big target. Head’s innings was the base for Australia’s big lead, and we could have made it less easier for him at the start of his innings

I think Rohit, Kohlis test careers appear over. Going forward India need to blood the youngsters like Reddy. Pace Bowling is fine with Akash Deep and Shami returning, and Bumrah and Siraj are bowling fine.

Spin bowling is a huge concern given the 3-0 loss to NZ. India hasnt blooded any new youngsters in spin bowling. Once Ash and Jadeja retire its just going to be Washi, Bishnoi, Kuldeep and Axar for tests, and most of them arent good enough.

India are going to slide down the rankings one feels to the #3-4 range, given these glaring faults. Top 2 will be Aus and Eng.
