Whatever it takes!!!
Having just read what Siraj had to say, I have no problems believing he is absolutely speaking the truth about what happened when Head was dismissed. Head was definitely lying when he said all he said was well bowled.

That said, Siraj did point to the pavilion and I have no qualms with a batsman coming back with some words to that gesture, any time anywhere and for any score. Send offs are the second most cowardly thing to do (first being throwing at the batsmen which Aussies specialize in) and needs to be nipped out of the game for good, along with the first.

The worry for Aus is this kind of stuff does fire India up. We will have to wait and see but I wont be surprised if we see us playing far better from now this series.

I rewound the drop and you can't see the ball touch the ground from the replays they provided, but Smith was looking closely and instantly signalled it wasn't caught. Would have been interesting if he claimed it.

It also fires up the Aus crowds tbf. Honestly so long as nothing truly outlandish was said this kind of thing is good for the series, creates even more drama and interest.

Yeah I was really surprised he immediately said "not out"; I genuinely can't see where the ball touches the ground.

Brayshaw's been droning on about how uncomfortable and awkward this chase might be for the Aussie openers. Is he just filling in dead air with nonsense or is he serious with this ****.

Crowds aren't playing though. And if you recall, we walloped Aus in Perth and that was a much better side after the last furore. And in the 2017 series in India.

This is what he's like as a commentator - exactly the same **** during the footy season too, hyping up dead games by claiming the possibility of some outlandish comeback

The 2017 series in India is a good example of what I mean - Kohli and Ishant really revving up the crowds on Day 2 and then throwing bombs in the press was a big moment in that series

Yeah, India test match crowds are just a different energy though. The spin chokes and the crowds are what makes performances like NZ's amazing. The closer grounds really make it feel like the spectators are there on the field.

Aus crowds can be a big factor because of their size + hostility though. English teams in particular have been badly affected by the crowds in the past (and vice versa)
