Sush, you don't select people before they're ready #GarySteadThoughts and everyone gets to retire on their own terms.
I generally like what you have to say, but I could not possibly disagree more strongly on this one. He's had litetally one outstanding Shield game in his career

Would take Gary Stead over Greg Chappell all day everyday

Feel like Boland is the biggest threat. India play the others so often that they’re far more comfortable with them. Rahul just needs to wear him down and not expose the other idiots to any good bowling.

Look like reasonable bowling conditions & just wasting them
Yup, been good movement, carry, a bit of swing. Two wickets in the first hour would have been fair, but here we are. And the Rahul looks like he's getting more comfortable.

Whatever it takes!!!
We are lucky its not 35/4 right now. Our batting is just diabolically bad.

On another note, the selection of Washy for last test makes more sense now. Guess they were hedging against NKR being good enough as a bat but now feel he is capable enough to bat 7 for us, which means we can pick the better off-spinner than the better batter for that role.

Rahul's playing these length deliveries from Boland off the front foot but meeting the ball behind the crease. Good that he's playing it so late late but might chop on an inducker too.

Yeah I'd probably still pick Jake Weatherald over Konstas at this stage, it's just a non-starter.

Langer decribing Cummins as 'the world best bowler'. Umm, there's a guy in the opposition I think is better.

Cummins' action looks much better today. He's not falling off to the side. And he's bowling faster.

Just further emphasises that playing a Shield match or two prior to the series might have been a good idea.

I think Cummins has had the best career out of all bowlers in the world still playing. But yeah Bumrah is clearly better right now.
As in?

Tournaments won wise? Starc and Hazlewood are there with him. But again that is a team thing.

But figures wise it is Bumrah. LOI even more stark.

Tests Cummins away record is a bit mediocre (by his standards).
