**Official** 2nd Test @Adelaide, 6th-10th December

FWIW the pitch for the recent D/N Shield game at Adelaide Oval wasn't excessively lively at all, WA racked up 373 in the first dig, aided by an excellent 139 from Jayden Goodwin (son of Murray, in case anyone wasn't aware by now), South Australia made 253 with Henry Hunt making a ton of his own in response, against an absolutely gun bowling attack too, Bancroft then made a ton to snap his lean run in the 3rd innings in a big WA score but SA (albeit with a little assistance from some inclement weather) held on reasonably comfortably for the draw in the end

That being said though, it was said in comms in that game that the planned Test pitch used a slightly different variety of grass, which may make it a little more lively potentially
I don't actually think the Adelaide D/N pitches actually need to be lively as they are to protect the ball any more. They simply are that way because the curator wants them to be.

I would have to entirely agree with that, if anything the Shield pitch reinforces that view. The balls seemed to hold up pretty well throughout that game, certainly can't recall that ever being a major point of discussion throughout the four days

Great Gavaskar comment is hurting Australian fans / Media very badly . everyone's are talking about it . Hope this is start of some spicy contest outside the pitch. I don't like this friendship type's test cricket at all.
