*Official* Bangladesh in the West Indies, NOV 22 to DEC 19- 2024

Not sure bowling bouncers at WI quicks was the best tactic, seems like quite a bit of bad blood between these teams.

This pitch looks a minefield now, I’m not convinced it’s safe but it’s fun to watch.

The spinners will be a handful. Bangladesh need to bat past lunch and ideally send the Windies in to bat during the final session.

West Indies really need to do some self reflection on where they are going as a test team. These type of performances cannot be acceptable, batting at 2 an over at home to Bangladesh yet still getting bowled out for under 150 like what's the point ? WI neither entertaining their public nor winning consistently.

I tend to follow quite a bit of the West Indian Tests, I think Braithwaite is becoming an issue as captain. I don't expect them to pick their T20 stars and have a bash but it seems like the top order batting seems to be moulded around his style of play. It is a saving grace that they have such quality fast bowling as it keeps them in the game more often than not.

I did suggest that this looked the kind of pitch where if you came out and were positive then you could change the course of the match. Bangladesh have done exactly that and are reaping the rewards. There's turn there too and I full expect them to win from here.

The two posts above seem a very good summation of WI Cricket and I agree that Braithwaite seems to set the tone for a very negative style of batting. WI haven't fielded especially well in this game either, at least 3 dropped catches in the first innings and another from Da Silva yesterday.

So what is the situation regarding the higher profile t20 guys perhaps coming back for the Windies? It has been talked of, but hasn't happened. If Windies can find a batter or two, they would surely be moderately competitive with the bat more often. That effort yesterday seemed cringeworthy, but a little predictable. If you go nowhere for ages, you reap what you sow.

Blooming heck Windies I thought were on top after day 1 and now staring down the barrel!

Good bowling by Bangladesh or bad batting by WI in second innings?

Also good batting by Bangladesh I assume in the third innings?

WI effectively lost 61-9 in their second innings. The batsmen basically stopped playing shots (they weren't playing many anyway) and became sitting ducks. It was like watching a Dom Sibley innings, if you do **** all for ages, sooner or later a ball will get you. The Bangladesh first innings was exactly the same, but WI didn't learn from it.

Bangladesh took the bull by the horns in their second innings and played some shots, and they've deserved the rewards for their positivity.

Seems to be forever talk that they will be available but for various reasons it doesn't happen.

The one player of that lot that does play fc cricket (King) hasn't yet been called up.
