Brook is number 1
Would be impressive to jump Williamson, Jaiswal and Root from a single innings.Brook is number 1
Well Brook did just pass 2000 runs in the same number of innings (36) as Viv RichardsWould be impressive to jump Williamson, Jaiswal and Root from a single innings.
SENI for Joe Root? Are you sure you didn't mean SINA?Joe Root in SENI - Avg 44.3 , 6 centuries
Virat Kohli in SENA - Avg 44.7, 12 centuries.
Joe Root might be an ATG but definitely a lower tier one, hasn’t gone big in any tour to SENI countries, doesn’t even have more than one century on any tour .
Not much impact in Ashes apart from the 2015 one too, averages around 40 in Ashes.
A bad year or two and he will be back to averaging below 50.

I think it's a case of pick 4 countries that best suits your stance and give it an acronym!!SENI for Joe Root? Are you sure you didn't mean SINA?
True, Ponting in SINE averages 39.78 with 9 tons in 88 innings, Don't ask me why I left out the other countries!I think it's a case of pick 4 countries that best suits your stance and give it an acronym!!
I'm on the lookout for a player who has failed in W Indies, Australia, NZ and Kenya....

Yeah I meant SINA only.SENI for Joe Root? Are you sure you didn't mean SINA?
I am not arguing that Kohli is better than Root, Roots home exploits and consistency makes him better than Kohli.I'll post more accurate stats imo
Kohli has 9,000 runs at 48 average with a 3 year peak, same era.
Root has 13,000 runs at 51 average with 2 longer peaks, same era.
stats on a Planet called Earth
On the same planet , Williamson has 9k runs at an average of 55.I'll post more accurate stats imo

Yeah that's clear.I am not arguing that Kohli is better than Root, Roots home exploits and consistency makes him better than Kohli.
The point is that Root is not leagues ahead, and if his overall stats in top countries are lesser than Kohli who is not even an ATG then Root is definitely nothing more than a low tier ATG.
because Williamson sucks in like 5-6 countries while Root only has problems in 1. he also sucks in overall stats against the big three while Root has scored against SA and Ind.On the same planet , Williamson has 9k runs at an average of 55.
Doesnt make him better than Root.
The way its going Steve Smith might end up with a lower average than Williamson, won’t change their standings as a test batsman.
Which win in India? One test match?pakpassion tier argument.
doesn't need many multiple century serieses to influence a series, was pivotal in winning Basil D Oliveira trophy on 2016 and led us to a win in India in 2021 when they were on fire, also singlehandedly won a series in SL and would've won us a series in New Zealand too if not for horrible umpiring, that matters more than arbitrary and random standards like "more than one century"
have Kohli have a bad year or two and he won't even average 45.
Did you know beforehand on what SENPAI means when you wrote this? Senpai means senior in Japanese.Root’s average of 53.32 in SENPAI should be taken into account. He is clearly better than Kohli imo.
...or at all.Steve Smith is not known as the best after Bradman for just scoring an odd century on a tour and maintaining his average
You can't win serieses with knocks lol, as NZ showed, a group effort is required.Which win in India? One test match?
Did he win the series with that knock?
If he would have gone big, Eng could have drawn a test series in India, so please lets not argue about how important it is to score more runs, lol.
Steve Smith is not known as the best after Bradman for just scoring an odd century on a tour and maintaining his average, you need to dominate
