IMO after another wicket, maybe two at most, Bumrah should not bowl himself much at all. Save his legs for a long series and give the other quicks and Sundar some game time to get them some rhythm and confidence in the middle. cause they’ll be rotated through the series.

We should have seen this coming, it seems the best way to prepare for a Test series these days is to get humiliated in your last one! Bodes well for England in New Zealand then!
He will be aware that @subshakerz will downgrade him because he doesn’t have a 10fer which is a greater consideration

It's a live Test. No point putting unnecessary miles in anyone's legs if it can be helped. Bowl them out inside lunch and all's well, and the best way of doing that is the obvious.

Yeah people tend to forget how things can enormously change in a 5 match series. Losing the first match is not ideal but there is still so much to play for. I mean India lost the first test to England too
The concern is how inept the batting looks against Bumrah obvs

Well sundar hasn’t bowled a ball yet I think? And reddy has barely bowled. They’ll be up for it. Shami may come in so at least one quick will be switched out next game. IMO some miles in a few of the young guys is a good thing whereas it’s unnecessary and probably counterproductive for Bumrah. Maybe wait for Smith to get out and then start resting Bumrah.

Also lest we forget, the last tour of Australia, India was 36 all out in the first Test and it looked pretty grim before they came back to win the series. So it’s a long long series with a lot of time. One of the major reasons for that win was that by the Gabba, the Aussie bowlers looked spent and very tired. Conserving your players is a good thing and you gotta take these opportunities within games as well as between games. India has also played a lot of Test cricket recently so it’s not like Bumrah is completely fresh.

The difference between both batting lineups which are both brittle is that the Aus one is old and the Ind one is young (except for Kohli/Rohit).
In general, old players become worse and young ones become better.
Maybe this series is one where this "becoming" will progress more?
Ashes 2013-14 was sort of similar where a great England team was on the way down.

I'm not watching anymore BGT because I'll be busy... It has nothing to do with how angry I am that Australia's batting, bowling and fielding is ****.
How does Australia get bowled out for 104, India then make 6/487 and Australia then go 3/12. This has to be the biggest humiliation I have ever seen in all my years of watching cricket

Yup.
Mayank, Gill, Siraj, NKR, Rana - all debuted in Aus and hit the ground running. Not possible in an older system.
Aus players are still good (at least by records) and might even win the series but in the long run traffic will be one way.
The 2020s are the transition period by the end of which when India will pull away.
