International Vice-Captain
Two beasts from Asia
Nah he's a professional baiter, no other work. You don't take holidays, nah??
Exactly this.Nah he's a professional baiter, no other work.
Kapil Dev numbers easily better.Kapil averages 31 with the bat and 29 with the ball
Even if he played in an easy era or batting pitches, a batting average of 57 over 130+ Test matches is an excellent achievement
Can't determine if this was supposed to be serious.Kapil's batting getting seriously underrated like his bowling.
He scored 40 or more 51 times.
Other indian batsmen played similar number of innings,
Sehwag 69 times 40+
Pujara 68 times
Ganguly 73 times
Vengsarkar 68.
Kapil's numbers are almost specialist category.
I mean, Jaisimha, Wadekar, Pankaj Roy, Contractor, Yashpal Sharma, etc all averaged 31 odd. Botham also averages only 2 runs more. Kapil almost would had made the team as a specialist bat and he in general had a good rate of conversation for 40+ and 50+ scores, including 8 centuries. Can't determine if this was supposed to be serious.
With an average of 31? Really?
This week on pick an arbitrary number that supports my conclusion.Kapil's batting getting seriously underrated like his bowling.
He scored 40 or more 51 times.

Otherwise people like you will continue to argue, Imran was consistent Kapil was unreliable... When the truth is opposite. This week on pick an arbitrary number that supports my conclusion.
Yes because I have definitely argued that about Kapil.Otherwise people like you will continue to argue, Imran was consistent Kapil was unreliable... When the truth is opposite.
40 is arbitrary.. But its a decent contribution from a player in an innings, and if he does regularly.. And very close to specialists than other allrounders, you can not say he was inconsistent or unreliable anymore.
I think Botham was in specialist batsman territory before he became a waster. Kapil was a no7.I mean, Jaisimha, Wadekar, Pankaj Roy, Contractor, Yashpal Sharma, etc all averaged 31 odd. Botham also averages only 2 runs more. Kapil almost would had made the team as a specialist bat and he in general had a good rate of conversation for 40+ and 50+ scores, including 8 centuries.
Wicket keeper batsmen are all rounders. It’s ridiculous to compare wicket keepers with all rounders
That was simply because SL had the best wicket keeper in the era to replace him.Sanga played 134 Tests and was WK in just 48 of them
