You mean proven in *checks notes* his home???? Where tf he adapted away you think Murali couldn't had? Don't think, even adjusting for home conditions, we are comparing the home GoAT to someone merely Great at home, and they have similar away record.
Is it easier to be the GOAT at home when the pitches are literally prepared to suit you.

Warne didn't have that.

You want to see a gap.
Like how you don't want to for Don and Sobers???

Clear skill issue. Warne's home record is levels below Murali, and really, all Murali got were the standard Sri Lankan pitches, which you claim to be dust bowl but will claim as pancakes when discussing Sangakkara and Jayawardene......

If you can't see the difference in assistance between the wickets that Warne got at home compared to those that Murali got, then this discussion is pointless.

But as I said said recently, explains a lot.

If you can't see the difference between their support and being the best Home bowler of all time makes, this discussion is infact pointless.

And really, explains a lot.

Best home bowler in the best home conditions, and again overall they are close.

But the lack of support is also what helped contribute to his insane wpm. It worked both ways.

Murali was brilliant and I have him and Warne practically tied, but of I have to chose one, it's Warne.

Their are many home bowlers in history who had better home conditions (English bowlers in the uncovered days, SA bowlers in the 2010s, current India, etc) and none is really better than him.

Yeah, and most likely hurt him a fair few points in Average. It really works both ways and bowling in a strong attack is far more beneficial.

Warne was brilliant and I have him close to Murali, but as bowlers I would place Murali ahead with a slight gap.

Between the home conditions and the minnows, that explains the average gap tbh.

And for the record I have Murali either 5th or 6th all time, so in no way disrespect to him, bit to suggest theses some gap between him and Warne, I don't see it.

Exclude the minnows and add the less shielding, you will get the better picture.

FTR, I have Warne at 7th, but no disrespect being behind Murali.

Murali is EASILY better than Warne. Not by a LOT IMO but by a clear enough margin to make the decision an easy one.

That said, I would also pick Warney over Murali in the ATG XI as I want a decent batter at 8 and Warney adds value as a slips fielder as well.
I mean what is your bowling attack that you want Warny to bat at 8??
