DrWolverine

U19 Debutant
60s was Flat, if he debuted in 50s and performed he'd be rated a lot higher
Barrington played 75 Tests between 1960-1968.

Even if we assume it was a batting era, he was significantly ahead of all of his teammates.

The only batsman who was better than him during that time period was the legendary Gary Sobers.

Coronis

International Coach
From his recall into the English side in 59 til his forced retirement…

Barrington 80 matches 6754 @ 59.71 20 tons
Sobers 38 matches 3846 @ 68.67 13 tons
Pollock 19 matches 1739 @ 57.96 6 tons

I find it difficult to say Pollock was convincingly better during this time considering how few tests he played, and against limited opposition. Not his fault of course, but just doesn’t make sense to me.
