Viv vs Lara vs Smith: Who has the best series performances?

How do you ***** remember this from series 50 years ago but fail to mention Smith got concussed in the 2019 ashes
I rate the Smith 2019 series very very highly. I thought 2017 was a bit overrated(still ATG), but 2019 is amongst the greatest ever. I even ranked it above Viv 76 in England and only behind the Lara series mentioned here

Richards scored throughout. Kalicharan and Lloyd more sporadically clearly(check the Wisden assessment Subz posted above and the scorecards of the series). Plus Lillee, Thomson, Hogg and even Dymock(as mentioned by the poster above, who was in his purple patch) presented a significant challenge.
Like, wasn't the point that he presented was Hogg was **** and Thommo only played a single game?? Agreed about Dymock being good though. Now, Lloyd scored runs in 2 of 3 innings and Kallicharran scored a century and 2 40 odd in 3 of his 4 completed innings...... Surely can't call that sporadic. Rowe and Greenidge also had their moments. WI batters overall batted well, even Garner and Roberts chirped in with 50s; comeon now, don't disagree with that.

The whole reason Hogg didn’t fulfill the promise of early career and was horrible in this series was because he was taken apart by Viv in the series. He developed an injury after the series and after the incident where he was taken apart from 59 runs in 6 overs. Otherwise he was routinely troubling Boycott in the Ashes previous
Lol, typical Viv fanboy nonsense. I have no idea why you feel the need to mythologize and flat out make **** up something to this extent when it comes to Richards. One hammering isn't going to ruin any bowler's career. Hogg injured his back in the one day series vs England (which was only a few days before the test series vs WI) and had to go off the field with the same back injury in the innings where he was being smashed by Viv.

Next you'll argue Jeff Thomson didn't play because he was scared of Viv's huge dong

Yeah Thommo was done by then. not sure on Hogg. But aside from Dymock, there was Pascoe too for a test.

Hogg was not **** tho. He had been in great form prior. And Thommo was good till 79/80. Post that he started to fail. I’m saying more than anything, Viv dominated all chances he got

Calm down. I was only reiterating a story I had heard. Anyways point was Hogg was in hot form before that series, and Viv dominated. And despite the back injury, he was bowling well against England(took 46-4), and even post that WI series, had a strong summer during 1980-81.

He was pretty **** in that series. 2 wickets @62 and forced to leave the ground pretty much means he wasn't fit and not bowling really well. Past form isn't really important here. You can look at the previous Bangladesh series and say NZ played Ashwin brilliantly, while the more of the truth is he bowled pathetic. And like on the story, if being struck around in 3 innings and mostly in a single series breaks a bowler; they are made of ceramic and should not play any cricket.

But then again, it was Hogg......
