When people think of the greatest team ever, they are thinking of the WI team of the quartet of the late 70s and early 80s, not the one with Marshall in 1988. At least I do.
I think most people actually just push Marshall in the quartet and think of the WI team that played 6 matches in '83...... But your point stands, as that's a wrong idea.

That's you prerogative Smali, but the team was at its absolute peak in '84 even though Lloyd was on the brink of retirement and maintained that level till about '87 / '88.

Pretty sure we had this discussion in another thread, but again, you're free to see it from your perspective.

Absolute peak means that post 84 it was downhill?

I probably rate Lille higher than you do, and right there with Imran, Donald, Wasim, O'Reilly, and I understand what you're saying, but it wasn't because he was an asshole on the pitch.

That's all I'm saying.
Lillee's aggro approach definitely was transformative for cricket

I know you love chaos, but he's entitled to his opinion.
On another note Kyear. I know you rate B. Richards highly even though he only played 4 Tests. I'm curious to hear your opinion on Sylvester Clark because I regard him in a similar manner ie an absolute top shelf fast bowler who just made one bad decision that cost him his career. Imagine if instead of whatever 4th bowler dreg that the WI usually had that, they regularly had Marshall, Holding, Garner and Clarke?

The 4th bowler dreg was Walsh

How do you rate Wayne Daniels?
Yeah he's another who should've forced out any stragglers in the WI team. I honestly can't remember why he didn't get more games. Clarke obviously got banned because he went to Rsa, ditto Croft plus he was injury prone. I just can't remember why Daniel never made it back in once Roberts retired and Croft had left. Class bowler though. Could've been yet another 200+ wkt sub 25 average fast bowler for the WI imo.
