*Official* England in the West Indies 2024

One team's batting approach was meek while the other's was authoritative and pugnacious.
I genuinely think that conditions dictated that. The ball swung all over the place, bounced and span. I honestly don't blame the batters today.

We do, however, have a serious bowling problem. Alzarri being out exposed our attack big time.

That's why we have the toss in the game, unlike other sports.

I think even with Alzarri we wouldn't have stopped the intent from the English batsmen. It's the nature of the game. Who wants it more.

Our bowling sucks. Akheil and Motie are good as is Alzarri, but the rest really suck.

I'd also bring in Shai to replace King in the next match.

It's been the same all Tour. If you include the one day games...

Teams batting first have lost 41 wickets
Teams batting second have lost 14 wickets (there's even some symmetry there for @SillyCowCorner1)

I actually think these are two pretty evenly matched teams, but winning the toss is the decisive factor. The concern has to be that there's only been one relatively close game, and in the end, England chased that down with more than 2 overs to spare. England probably need to win one more toss to take the series, which would be fair given the ODI's went to WI.

But it's not really acceptable to have this big a difference, something needs to be done to make it fairer.

100%. The jeapordy of a contest has been missing which as a fan is difficult. It boils down to enjoying individual performances in those circumstances.

Mahmood T20s - had an average of 50.66
2 matches 6 wickets for 9.00

doing better than Archer whose T20 average was 21.93
4 matches 2 wickets at 73.00 (3 ODIs 1 T20)

Would say Mahmood should open the bowling instead of Topley.

The irony being that Archer was by far the better opening bowler yesterday whilst Mahmood was spraying it around all over the shop.

Well didn't watch but I will take your word for it. Doesn't matter how you bowl but the result of that bowling.
